Single tap to show buttons. Double-tap to zoom in/out quickly.
Completed
Single tap to show buttons: It`s hard to be driving and have to double-tap on the screen to show the button bars. Can you add a single-tap option? Can you also add a double-tap zoom-in/out (like some browsers, such as Dolphin Browser have)? E;g.: double tap: shows buttons. Double tap while buttons are visible: zoom in to x%. Double-tap again: zoom out again.
check menu > settings > global > The style map control
hmm, weird English, anyway when you enable Google-like style, it allow to zoom in (by double tap) and zoom out (by two finger tap). Only not-best solution is three finger tap for show panels ... probably just one-finger tap should work better? (this is also question on others)

I like the "weird English" comment!
Anyway, let me mention that I have an Xperia X8, which doesn`t support multi-touch. So it`s all one-fingered taps for me.
In Locus I open Menu -> Settings -> Global, but I don`t see "Style Map Control". I see:
- Fullscreen
- Confirm on Exit
- Always screen on
- Allow dimmed highlight
- Disable lock screen
- Lock Orientation
- Quick Switch...
- Use Hardware Buttons
- Enable Address Search
- Simple Multi Touch (currently enabled) t exactly easy when driving.
Hence my suggestions:
- Show the bottom panel (and zoom buttons) with one tap (instead of two)
- Allow double-tap to quickly zoom in/out
This may not make sense for devices with multi-touch, though.
Thanks for your attention.

oki, understand
so problem si that your phone do not have multitouch ...
what is version of your system? It`s below A2.1? Because Android 1.6 and 2.0.1 are no longer supported. That`s probably why you have some older version

Hi,
I have a rooted Android 2.1, xPeria X8. Yes, it`s an older model (no wonder it was cheap when I bought it last year). But it works very well and I don`t plan spending money on a newer Android device... yet.
As soon as I can justify a newer device, I will get one.
THanks for your feedback.

Menion, any update on this? Any chance of adding a "single tap" or "my device doesn`t have multi-touch" to the zoom options? Currently both options require multi-tap devices...
Notice that a great amount of users still have devices that don`t have multi-touch.
Thanks again,
Michael

Hello Michael,
good you remind me this, I completely forget on it
so I`m reading previous posts and I`m not sure how to check if you want with double tap zoom in or out. If difference here will not be clear, what about solution like "double tap on left part of screen" > zoom out, "double tap on right part of screen" > zoom in?

I know that only one person, but adding such support is for max. two hours of work and because Sony Ericssons are quite nice and useful phones, I think that some support for phones without multi-touch should be handy ...

I'm closing this idea, because Locus now support new nice single-tap zoom (tap, tap and hold). So idea implemented
