Size Of Panels in version 3.44
Answered
Hi Team,
From Version 3.44 it seems to me, that size of Panels (upper, right and down) are bigger than previous versions. I'm looking for possibility to change size of these panles, but doesn't any options.
The icons are too big before that.
At now map on 5" LCD has so small area to showing content.
Have we impact on change for it ?
Yes, I don't like it at all, feels like a size for 90 year old and blind people.

Thanx for spiritual support, but this isn't comforting for young people with sharp eyesight ;-)
Have You maybe link for UI guidelines from Menion about that ?

Hi guys,
it is not necessary to look for some online guides. You may simply check all other places in the app. The main screen was the last one who used smaller buttons with the base size 48dp. Common well-tested value is 56dp (so about 25% bigger) and I may only agree with this value based on personal, not-couch experience.
What is the resolution of your device that this smaller change has so big impact on map visibility?

Тогда сделайте возможность их редактировать, а то для маленьких дисплеев такое совсем никуда не годится!

On my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with Android 6.0.1 Stock ROM the buttons looks like in the picture posted above. The Note 4 has a resolution of 1.440 x 2.560 Pixel.
The size of the icons is ok for me. But the size of the button around the icons is a little bit to big.

The space around the icons serves offcourse as a touch area for people with bigger fingers.

But useful area for map on 5"lcd is only 4" area for map. After this upgrade, its so weak to comfortable use.

I have 1080x2244px on a 7.4 inch phone. I like compact, not space wasting designs, prior state was easy to touch as well for me.
Toolbar looks like made for disabled people with coordination problems.
As I already mentioned, I lose 3 vertical items in direct view. From 16 to 13.
I must say I am using it when hiking. Usage may be more precise than when being on a bike. In fact couch usage, because I mostly stop when using Locus.

Ι also don't like the big buttons at all. It’s a waste of screen area and it makes lists less overseeable. I bought a phone with 5" screen to have more information at one glance, not because my eyes are bad. (Which they are, in fact, but the 48x48 icons were never a problem.)
But on the main screen a smaller map area is really a loss of comfort.
Beyond that, since some months hiding the button bars by double clicking is not working any more, so it’s still more important to have a big map area...

The new size means that fewer fields fit in the sidebar. With Locus Map Pro it should stay that way or be adjustable. In Locus Map 4 it is (for me) less bad. In Locus Map 4 some fields are now in Map Settings button and I have more space

Locus 3.44 @ Xiamo Mi A2 Lite. Nothing to complain about.

Huawei Mate 20 X. For me, too much empty area around icons. Prior size was nothing to complain about.

Walking or cycling or lying in the sofa, personal wishes will always be different.
For those, not the old ones, with actually no "defects".
Oh, it's just a matter of time and you too probably will be confronted with guys.
Try by config.cfg tuning. (Latest item in the file)
# Allows to rescale UI or main screen (default: 1.0)
dev_gui_main_rescale_value = 1.0
What about value = 0.9?

Wow, 0709, you are a hero!!
"Problem" solved!
I also want to beg the devs pardon for my last post, in retrospect it looks much more negative than intended. Great great piece of software, i’m really happy with it!
Best,
Lucas

Where is location of this file? What value are you change on?

Directly in Locus main folder, on my phone it’s emulated/0/Locus/config.cfg. Open with a text editor, scroll completely down to the bottom. I changed the value to 0.9 – the main screen looks nearly like before now, just the symbols themselves are a little smaller, but with more space around, so all in all similar to version 3.43.

Hi guys,
sometimes good intentions, in this case, unification & improved usability, are not so successful :).
Thanks all for the feedback. Seems you already used to sizes used before, so I'll revert sizes in Locus Map back to the old style and keep some bigger changes (like this) to planned Locus Map 4.0.

Maybe Team Assam resume previous functionality with correct scaling buttons with nirmal size icons? Before 3.44 v was good...
