Smoother map scrolling on high resolution devices

On Samsung Galaxy Tab (tablet) raster map scrolling isn`t great. But on Galaxy S, which is has a slightly slower CPU and much smaller screen it is much smoother and much nicer to operate Locus.

What about improving the speed of map display, scrolling and zooming?

It should be possible, because on the same device Google Maps work very smoothly (as opposed do Locus)

Advantage of Google maps compare to Locus is in fact, they use OpenGL (graphics card) to draw maps on screen. Locus use only software rendering which is a lot slower.

To make it work thanks to OpenGL system, require quite a lot of time and for this exists topic here http://help.locusmap.eu/responses/3d_maps_by_using_srtm_files (I know it's about 3D, but in the end, it's same)

We are constantly works on improving performance, so this topic will never end ... anyway since time of this request, speed of maps was increased a lot I hope, so I'm closing this topic.
