Sound recording

Solved

Hi,

when I save a point on the map, I can attach files to that point.

One of the options is to attach an audio file.

This is handled differently from attaching a photo or a video, in that it appears that Locus contains its own recorder.

1. The quality of those sound recordings is extremely bad; would it be possible, like with Photos/videos, to open a dialogue for choosing one of the available recorders?

2. Yesterday, while recording a track during a five hour walk, I did something (whatever) which caused Locus to crash - it would open, and after a few seconds show the "...had to close..." dialogue.

Eventually I restored the latest data which I had saved in Titanium Backup.

Result: Photos and videos taken during that walk were still there, and so, it seemed at first glance, were the audio files, but they all were now 782 bytes in size, and so did NOT contain any useable sound recording.

Are the sound files still somewhere on my device, or are they lost for good?

Regards,

Jochen K.

Hello Jochen,

hard to say why sound recorded in Locus has a bad quality. I use only default suggested method to record and audio.

Anyway agree that button "Select an audio" should be there. To be true, I'm not sure why it isn't. So "fixed".

Second problem - all recorded sounds should be stored in Locus/data/media/audio, so check this directory. Also when next time such error happen, please try to find a few minutes and create a log by this method http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:how_to_create_debug_log . Log then should contain any useful information that may say me where exactly is a problem. Without reproducing of same problem or without a log, I'm unable to fix it.

Sorry for a troubles!
