stupid POI question

stupid question. do I need a single .gpx or .kmz file for each type of POI or do they include a number of different categories for my area?

but haven`t been able to download anything yet.
I`m coming from Garmin and Lowrance country and I`m trying to learn!

This is a user problem.. ;-) it works well on your posted website.
If you have problems to import in Locus - i can help you - but i`m not able to teach you "how downloading a file from the web".

thank you for being so patient. it looks like I`m in for quite a bit of downloading lol.
sort of general stuff. shops. petrol stations. govt agencies. restaurants. all that kind of stuff I got hooked on with the garmin and lowrance. I`m also on a state border so I`ll have to do it for 2 states.
I`d be looking for a lot of different things. and I was able to download a file when I register to do that lol.
