Support for Content URI

Hi,

I tried opening a GPX file from my phone and it failed, apparently Locus does not support Content URI requests.

Is that feature planned perhaps somewhere down the road?

Thanks.

Good day Mario,

interesting. Locus Map should support all possible inputs for GPX or other files. To be true, I do not perfectly understand what this application wants to say. It is some standard system application you are using?

Hi Menion,

This is in Fx explorer, so pretty standard for explorer and I see this error for the first time.

I just migrated to a new phone and this one is running Android 9, so it might be that Locus needs to be updated to Pie standards perhaps.

Thanks :)

Good day Mario,

I've installed this file browser and as I see, it looks more like a problem of this application then a Locus Map

You may give a try and share a KML file instead of GPX and you will see it works correctly. In case of GPX, FX app incorrectly set a "mime type" of this file to "application/gpx+xm", which is incorrect. Correct value is "application/gpx+xml"! (missing 'L' in the end) It needs to be solved by FX developer. It will then works in Locus Map as well.

If you are interested in this functionality, please contact FX app developer together with the link on this my post and let me know in case of any remaining troubles.

Have a nice day,

Menion

Thanks Menion,

I've forwarded this thread to the FX developers.

Hi Mario,

did you receive any feedback from FX developers? It seems I'm still facing the same issue as described by you.(I know this topic is a little bit out-of-scope for this Locus help desk side, but would be great if you can provide a short feedback anyway)

Thanks and best regards,

Christoph

Hi Christoph,

I haven't heard back from them. Also, to be honest, I don't remember I got in touch with them in the first place, but now that you've reminded me about it, I just sent an email to FX devs.

In the meantime, as a workaround, I was opening a GPX file directly from Locus, and not from the FX file manager.

@Menion, I'm curious now, how come I can open any GPX file with Garmin Connect app from within FX, but Locus is still shown as a non-viable option for it?

Hello Mario,

as I wrote to Christoph in a different topic, try to install Intent intercept application from Google Play and use it to fix missing "l" in send intent. Why Garmin is supported and Locus Map doesn't? Do not know ...

Thanks for the link Menion, but it seems that app is not on the store anymore.

I get "We're sorry, the requested URL was not found on this server." and looking for its name on the PS doesn't give any valid result.

Hi Mario,

you can get Intent Intercept here: https://m.apkpure.com/intent-intercept/uk.co.ashtonbrsc.android.intentintercept
