Switching offlline vector map automatically

Switching offline vector map automatically to the right map, when map is moved (if different regions are saved offline).
I think this would be useful.

You mean switching to the next map, if you leave the region of the currently used map?
This is a functionality which is (currently) not supported by the underlying libraries (mapsforge). Maybe you can place a development request there (http://code.google.com/p/mapsforge/).

Actually, we’ve been thinking about some changes in map manager – sorting or switching map based on your position. So your idea comes in right time. We are going to discuss it in next weeks.

I agree it would be handy to automatically switch.
I just wanted to mention the next best thing - we have a "quick map switch" button which makes it very easy to switch. The appropriate vector map appears conveniently as the first entry in the category "Nearest Maps - Vector" .
Just mentioning in case you were not familiar with this.

I don`t see it working - what are the requirements to get automatic switching working? I have 4 maps from Arizona, Utah, California and Nevada, selected California, an when moving over to arizon I just see white area, no map of arizona...maps are from mapsforge/openandromaps...

check if you have enable auto-loading in menu > settings > maps - advanced
