Tablet UI

Completed

Hi everybody,

I recently thought about some improvements for the UI for tablets. Maybe it would be very nice to have something like it is already present at the UI in the settings. For example pressing the menu button opens a tab with the main menu as a list on the left side, while there is still the working map view on the center/right side. Even the same with the overview of the functions. Having the listed functions on the left side and the map view (still scrollable) on center/right side.

There are many functions that could benefit from a "splitted" view. Imagine f.e. "navigation". See your itinary on the left and see your moving map on main view.

Maybe it is even possible to think about something like AirCalc

Anyway, I guess only around 5% of Locus is used on tablets. So the question is, if it worthy or not to invest some developing time in this feature. But who knows... With growing amount of tablets there will be more users... ;)

Let me know, what you think about...

Cheers, berkley

Thanks for sharing this idea Matthias ...

But as you already wrote. Number of users that use Locus on tablets is quite low. When number of users on tablets + users of ICS will grow over around a quarter, I`ll for sure start work on this more.

Matthias, I`m closing this topic as completed even it`s not yet really completed :). As you already noticed, few screens was already rewrote to benefit from wide screens (mainly Map manager) and this will continue as I`ll do some more tweaks and GUI improvements.
