Tell Route Planner "finished"

It would be great if I could tell the Route Planner that I'm done with making changes. Perhaps with a "lock" or "done" button. This would have a few benefits:

  1. No dashed line and no cross hair for a "next" point that won't exist. When you're showing someone a screenshot of the finished route, this is hard to explain ("ignore that"), and just plain distracting at the best of times.
  2. You won't accidentally edit the route when simply trying to zoom/pan. This happens to me all the time.

Or is that already available, and I just couldn't find it? Thanks.

Understand. What you suggest is anyway some kind of "hack" of the screen, that have completely different purpose.

Currently, I'm working on a complete redesign of the main application screen and right after that should come under the knife detail of point and detail of the track. So something close to what you want is in my head and most probably will be implemented over the winter ;).

So if you won't be against, I'll close this idea (because I really do not want to create from the Route planner screen for track-preview).

Hello Viajero,

please explain a little more this idea to me. You finished editing, but you do not want to leave a route planner screen, but would rather stay there but disable editing? Why? In the menu is "save" button so finish the edit and return to the main screen. Isn't that better?

Uh, maybe... But in a few minutes of experimenting, I couldn't find a way to see (after Save) what I wanted: a screen with the entire route (manually zoomed to fit), and with the stats expanded to show distance, gain, and chart. This screen is what I like to make a screenshot of, to show people later as hiking options. Then showing different hikes is a simple matter of swiping between images.

And it's almost perfect. But I'd love to see an option without the pink dashed line, and (hopefully) also without the crosshair and point elevation, as shown. Because at the moment, it's all about the route, not the next point.
