Hi Matteo,

how do you know the elevation gain during recording is right and the resulting el.gain is wrong? Do you have any referrential measurement?

hi thanks for the reply.Yes, because I first calculate elevation through route planning. The elevation corresponds to the schedule but changes after the trace is savedWhat is the correct elevation ???

Hi Matteo,

in the route planner the elevation is calculated from offline elevation data that are based on a publicly available 3D model of the Earth surface. The elevation measured during the trip is gained from GPS and other sensors of your phone right in the real terrain so the accuracy is obviously much better.

yes I understood but the elevation detected during the recording and shown on the display is through the GPS and this changes at the end of the recording when I execute the saving. That's what I don't understand, can you help me?

After the track recording is finished the overall elevation gain is once again recalculated and optimized so as to remove possible deviations caused by GPS inaccuracy. Resulting elevation gain then should be the most accurate.
