Hello balloni,
hmm, I'm really not sure, if this is useful at all. "Weather" button in right panel do similar service. And usually should be enough to check this number once a day (maybe twice), to +- remember it's value. Or not? :)

Ah you mean to compute this value independent on "Weather service", that is the point?

I like this idea, Ozi Explorer CE for Windows Mobile has that functionality (compute sunrise/sunset depend of your GPS position).

What this would be for? Seriously - the time of sunset is known for particular day.
But this is not the point. The point is that light conditions differ depending on land shape and mostly on weather conditio (clouds/rain/frog/moon phase/season). The info like 55min to sunset means almost nothing (even though is known same easy from current time and sunset time).

Ok, but from where You know the time of sunrise/sunset?
On my Pocket PC - Ozi Explorer CE I have custom screen when i see time of sunrise and susnet.
It is usefull when I drive my car (camper) all day, and 1 hour (30 minutes) before sunset i need to find a place to stay night. It is better to look for a such place at daylight then a lights of my car.

The weather function already has the sunset/rize time, it makes no sense to add this feature. Just 3 taps to see it...

Hi guys,
I have made this topic as a "Topic of a day" in our company. Mainly because quite easy implementation and amount of votes that this topic got during one month.
For my own surprise, this topic get support from Hanka and Michal without hesitation.
So even that I wanted to decline it, it will be implemented in next Locus version :).

Hello menion,
with smal displays in portraitmode the value is not visible.
Is it possible to display the icon at right side of this field and the value allways in second line on beginn of the row?
The most important information is the time value.

- Why we need an icon?
- You can reduce your buttons on top bar from 4 to 3 :-Þ
- Label "Sunrise" could be enough
- Now we have to find the right translation word :o)

hmmm,
- icon is nice graphical element which ads some small colors and meaning to plain white text
- reduce buttons - hmm I'm even surpised, that I've allowed more then three buttons on a small devices.
- label "sunrise" is different compare to "time to sunrise"!
@balloni: I'll try to improve it a little bit, but with four buttons in top bar, values will never be correctly visible, sorry.

At 1:55AM locus shows time to sunset 16:02, instead of showing time to sunrise about 6 hours.

In case Locus isn't aware of my current location I get the text "unknown". Information based on location of center cross would be more general and helpful.
Btw. it then would work like the wheather forecast.

I also changed my mind and like it.
But other little snakes come out of the grass. :)

I have 4 useful buttons at top of my app. If I had a choice I would rather see the actual number (HH:MM) rather than a "colorful icon" and text "Time to Sunset".

Oki, so changes to next version:
- icons remains
- time moved to first line, so it should be always visible
- text (description), text size reduced to 80% and moved to second line
- fixed issue reported by Vitaly Romaka and also some others, with incorrectly computed times
- @tommi: I do not want to use map center here. In case of weather screen, there is clearly wrote address as top, so it is more obvious. In this case, what you expect? Time to sunset/sunrise in place where are now right? Not where you forget your map center. Because of this, I prefer "Unknown" before some "nonsense" (map center).

If I use my phone outdoor with GPS enabled, the map center is typically not hundreds of km away from the current location but at the current location or in the surrounding of it.
If I use my phone for planning purposes, the map center is typically at the location of interest -> therefore my proposal.
