TomTom does not work with imported Geocaching PQ`s

If I try and navigate to a waypoint imported from a Geocaching.com PQ, TomTom just gives two options, to either accept or change unfound destination and will not navigate.

Well, this is a Locus forum, not Tom Tom! Your best option is to ask this on a Tom Tom forum.

What I remember from the distant past, is that I could somehow convert the .GPX files into .CSV format and then my navigator would at least show the caches on the map and navigate me to the closest road/street, but not off-road!

hello Tuffy,

stebu is right. Problem here is not in Locus, but in inability of TomTom developers to create any useful method for other developers to start navigation from 3rd party app like Locus. Be-on-road, Sygic, Navigon and maybe others are able to correctly handle request on navigation, but TomTom not. So maybe later ...

I`m disappointed that you wrongly blame other apps, your quick response means that you haven`t even looked at the issue and from your attitude you can`t be bothered and probably never will.

The problem is firmly in Locus` court, because TomTom works flawlessly with other apps using the the same original GPX data.

I have tested on c:geo, Neongeo & CacheSense, all of which work and the only app that can`t cope is Locus..

I suggest you actually look into issues raised rather than ignore major flaws in poor coding and admit that your team needs to investigate issues.

Hopefully you won`t get a cob on and will actually fix this issue, rather that bleat about other app developers being at fault.

"wrongly blame" - funny

you may read for example here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14...

I spend quite a lot of time to add support for 3rd party navigation apps. I don`t know if you`re familiar with "intent" system that android use for communication between apps, anyway truest me ... TomTom has worst support for this type of communication as I know.

I`ve anyway checked source code of c:geo app, and seems that use some really basic method to make it work, that on other side do not allow to use some extra information (which most of other apps use without problem)

So I`ll try to improve it a little and we`ll see..

I admit that I was a bit harsh with my comments.

Locus doesn`t work with TomTom, whether using a GPX or an actual point chosen, whereas all other apps that I use work flawlessly.

Have a look at:

http://developer.tomtom.com/

it seems to me that they have provided a solution to integrate into their apps.

How is this issue SOLVED, when it obviously hasn`t been?

I don`t want to be rude, but ...

1. I never wrote that TomTom app is supported by Locus! Locus allow to call 3rd party navigation apps from waypoints sub-menu, but there is no direct "call" to TomTom.

2. page you mention contain "TomTom’s Map Toolkit API is for developers of online web-based and mobile apps who would like to integrate TomTom’s map-based services, including map tiles, geocoding, traffic incidents, and routing, into their solutions." - but I don`t want to build another app based on their PAID service

3. I wrote that I improved this system a little. You have to wait till next app release or check existing testing version here http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?to...

4. "Solved" is because it`s not a problem of Locus that TomTom app do not understand even a basic, generic "call" from Locus to navigation
