Track record - track is exported twice to Dropbox at end of record
Closed
Hello
I am using the track record with automatic export at the end.
The export is set to GPX mode and the storage points to my Dropbox account.
Since a recent version (not sure if it is the latest one 3.18.2, or the one before), the file is export twice. So I get 2 GPX file in my dropbox "date_time.gpx" and "date_time (1).gpx".
However if I set the GPX export to a local storage, then the file is exported only once.
It is not a big deal. It may even be a Dropbox issue.
Let me know if you need more details.
Best regards
Good day Barbudor,
very interesting. I've just tried it on a fresh installation and it seems to work correctly. Isn't there some possibility that you use any alternative tool like DropSync that may by accident to some "double synchronization"? I'm trying to find some reason why Locus should export single file twice and unfortunately I see no real reason for this.
I'll try it tomorrow with automatic export feature too.

Good day Menion,
I don't have DropSync. DropBox app is configured to upload automatically only photos and they go into a different directory. The only app who is aware about my track-upload directory is Locus.
I just done a test by doing a manual export to Dropbox of an existing track, and it is uploaded only once.
So this stupid little thing occurs only with the automatic export which is performed when I stop the recording.
From what I read, you tested only the manual mode, correct ?

Good morning,
yes I tried yesterday only a manual export. I now tried automatic export and it also works correctly.
I'm checking code and seems to be impossible to execute upload of files to Dropbox twice. You may try to do to backup of settings in backup manager (so I may use this backup later for simulation) , then remove definition of automatic export in your recording profile and set this definition again. If it helps.
Also what about your recorded tracks? Are you adding some waypoints or attachments during recording? I'm trying to find out if there is some difference compare to my own recordings.

Good Morning too
Strangely this morning it doesn't do it any more.
Yesterday evening, while I was writing, I did disable the auto-export and re-enabled it. May be it did the trick and solved the issue. I probably forgot to check a last time.
I've looked at my Dropbox history and the issue first appeared on June 26th and then on every record since this date.
So let put this on sleep for some time…
Have a nice week end.
Thanks a lot.

Hmm, can't imagine what may cause this problem. Anyway there were absolutely no change in export system to Dropbox/Google Drive for monthS! Interesting.
Anyway glad it works now. If there will be same problem in future, you may try to do a backup of settings in "Backup manager" and send me it. Thanks
