Track recording cut out, even though battery optimisation disabled

On my OnePlus 3T, I have Endomondo, MapMyRide, and Sreava installed. I usually use Endomondo to share my bike rides, and have OSM Tracker running at the same time if I want to make notes, eg to help me when editing OpenStreetMap.

I wanted to try Locus Map's track recording to replace Strava, in this case to automatically to Strava. Even though I disabled battery optimisation for Locus Map (which I have also done for Strava), the track recording cut out for several miles.

My aim is to later use Locus Map in place of OSMTracker as well as Strava, if the track recording is reliable.

Hi,

Locus Map track recording is always cut out by a device battery optimization. Various manufacturers have various methods, not all of them are included in the "battery optimization" settings section, they can be scattered over whole settings including security etc. Unfortunately, we don't have any OnePlus device for testing so we can't help in this case particularly. All our knowledge on this problematics is summarized here: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:gps_lost_fix_android6. Plus two steps in Locus settings you can try but we are not certain they'll help in your case:

- go to Locus settings > GPS& Sensors > Google Services assisted location > ON

- go to Locus settings > Miscellaneous > Run Locus Map as service > ON

This happens to me also, on my OnePlus 3T. But - this wasnt always the case. Up until recently (maybe the last month or two) the app managed to record tracks just fine. I use it for recording training sessions where there is no phone/data connection and it seems that fouls it up. My phone has "dont optimize" set and all other background jobs seem to work as they should. Too bad, because Locus Map is probably my most valued app.

Hi Morten,

try the trick with track recording widget. It works on Huaweis, maybe also One+ will work either. http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/locus-pro-on-huawei-smartphones
