Tracking stops, when mobile phone is in my pocket

christof.kaufmann shared this problem 11 years ago
Not a Problem

I use Samsung Galaxy Note II and Locus Maps Free.

My problem: the app works, when I hold my mobile phone in my hand, but when I lock it and put it in my pocket, it stops tracking. When I put it out again, there is a straight line for the traveled distance where my moby was in the pocket. This really gets on my nerves, so I would be happy to know a solution for this problem!

Hm, one more guess.

Could it be that there is too bad reception of the GPS signal in your pocket?

There are parameters for track recording, the one which comes into play here is "Max accuracy".

What value did you set? Maybe (at least for a test) increase it to e.g. 200m.

Another test would be to put the phone into the pocket but with screen on (you can lock the screen to avoid inadvertant operation of Locus http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php/manu...).

Just as a hint: We know that the pressure sensor doesn`t work during screen off, check https://getsatisfaction.com/locus/top....

But this would only be a problem if you used the pressure sensor and has no effect on recording of latitutude/longitude values.

Christof this is really weird. Mainly because I also use Note 2 to locus developing so on this device, all should work without mistakes!!

Are you using original rom or any alternative? Did you also tried record track in any other application? (you may simultaneously) to check if this is problem only of Locus or not
