UMAP displayed in Locus? WMS?

I have built an OSM-based uMap (http://u.osmfr.org/m/170451/) for my organisation's humanitarian work in Bangladesh which is good, however, when I return to the field, I would like to display it in Locus since it's my main GPS app.

Is this possible? I tried adding the URL as a WMS source but was unsuccessful. I'm looking for a live solution to display the map. I know I could download the uMap as a KML and send to Locus each day but I want to avoid this as it's time-consuming.

Hi,

In case that you want to display only the map itself then the "custom provider" feature is exactly for you. Basically it helps to define new map that appears in the list of online map (Manu > Maps > Online).

Thank you Petr. Unfortunately, this didn't work - I think I need to understand this better. I managed to edit my XML to get the map to appear as an option, but no tiles were displayed.

Hi, Peter,
it's quite an old topisc and a lot has changed in the WMS configuration file or providers. Is there any WMS service you would like to add to Locus that is not working?

It is my own map that I have created in Umap. Is it possible to ad in Locus as a layer? A example url is https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/map/test-map_1100751

Oh, sorry, I thought you were asking about WMS. To be honest, I don't know Umap that well. Locus can only display raster maps. But Umap seems to be designed as a vector data layer over a raster map. And Locus is not able to display these vector overlays.

Do you know if it is possible to configure Umap to publish data as WMS or as raster tiles?

I have now tried to create a wms url in Qgis cloud. Do I need a xml file to show it or can I just ad the URL as WMS in Locus. The URL is: https://wms.qgiscloud.com/Solleveld/TsT/

Good job. You can add WMS into Locus via Menu > Map Manager > WMS/WMTS tab > PLUS button > Add from library > PLUS button again > Enter WMS Link
