Unable to install from Amazon App Store

Hello,

I purchaed Locus Maps Pro (back in 2018) from the Amazon App Store. I recently got a new phone (Essential PH-1) and installed LineageOS w/microg (no google play services). When I search for Locus in the app store it doesn't appear. When I search for it on Amazon.com, I see it, but my device shows up as unsupported. I have it installed on my old phone (moto x4, also with lineage and microg). Any idea why mu phone is unsupported? I contacted Amazon, but they just told me to contact the developer.

Thanks

Hi Jeff,

A few weeks ago, Amazon declared our app incompatible because they found out it needs GPS for its functioning. It sounds as a nonsense but unfortunately, it is so. We have been in a dispute with Amazon since then and we're trying our best to persuade them that navigation app needs GPS. So far, to no avail. We have issued a new version of Locus yesterday and we are waiting for the result of their re-testing of the app.

As Amazon doesn't offer any means of refund in case user can't update an app, we can offer you only a Google voucher for Locus Map Pro.

best regards

Michal, Locus team

Michal,

Thanks for the information. I guess I will wait to see if it becomes available soon. Thanks for the offer of a Google voucher, I have purchaced it before on the google store, but I am trying to de-google my phone now.

Just got an update notification from the amazon app store (I was able to extract an APK from an old phone that had an older version on it) and it updated to 3.44. Everything seems to work great now.

Thanks,

Jeff
