Solved

Unable to log into google for data import. If you already have an established connection it works fine, but if you log out or have a new install and attempt to log back in nothing happens.

Good day Peter,

a day after I've answered to Ricky, I've found an serious issue in login system in Locus Map ( latest version ). Problem is already fixed so please wait till next week when new version will be published ( we will try sooner, but cannot promise ).

Good day Ricky,

firstly it is important to use latest Locus Map version 3.24.0 or 3.24.1. There were some breaking changes in previous version based on changes in Google Drive system, that should be anyway fixed in these new versions.


If with these new versions, login does not work, I have to ask if you have on your device any common web browser? Because new login system should open "login window" in your default web browser and after login, Locus Map should receive information that login was success/failed. In your case it looks like Locus is not able to call/open any web browser in your device.

Thanks. New S8+. I did not have a default browser set. Once set it works fine. Always something new with Samsung. Keep up the great work. I am your biggest fan. BTW thanks for the copy to clipboard on the coordinates.

I' already using 3.24.3 version, but today I figured out similar issue with Google drive, there is no access to my google drive account. Any idea ?

Good day Peter,

with latest version of Locus Map we were solving another problem, but it should be all working fine now. Please try to logout (in top toolbar menu) and login again, if something is not working correctly.

Hello Ricky,

I have this problem, too.

It doesn't matter if I set or change the default browser (Firefox or Chrome), there seems to be no reaction to clicking on the Login button.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

thanks for this very quick response!

I will wait for the next version, and I will export via sdcard and move the files to Google Drive manually, in the meantime.

BTW: I can't export to the extsdcard, too. Could it be a Android 6 permissions issue?

I have this problem too, version 3.24.3 but only on my Samsung tablet (SM-T800) - My Xperia Z5 still works fine even though it's on the same version.


Any news on when the next version will arrive? (I can only see the the replies above were "1 month ago")

issue should be already fixed in this latest Locus Map version available on Google Play. What happen when you choose logout in top toolbar and try to login into Google Drive service again?

Hi Menion,

Unfortunately there is no option to logout when using my tablet, as seen in the attached screenshot.

On the phone the option log out is there.

Both are using the newest version...

there is no "logout" button because you aren't logged in!

That's what I assumed but you said to try to logout...

If I had been logged in I wouldn't be having this problem :-D


When I go to login it loads the screen (in the attached image) but never gets beyond this. It just loads and loads and loads, even over night. The internet connection seems to be fine, working with everything else.

Hello,

I thought you are already logged in and even then, there are any troubles, sorry for miss-understanding.


Anyway this is interesting. Locus Map opens this url in Chrome browser? Or what browser is it? Did Locus offer open this login screen in different web browser?

I have the same problem as jimmyfromthepieshop . Yesterday the export of tracks to google drive was running Ok, but today morning was process finished unsuccessful (pic. 2). I did logout from Google Drive, login again. It opens new Chrome browser window with login account list, I have chosen one, click "Allow". Locus said "Login valid" and show me my google disk contents and wents back to locus export form. But in background stayed the chrome browser window opened with neverending loading status pic. 1). I had to kill the Chrome window. Export to Dropbox was Ok.

Good day Mato,

yes, Chrome keep login window visible, but it do nothing, it's just visible. Main is if Locus display "login valid", which happen in your case.

So if I understand, login was correct, but export right after this login ended with orange toast "Process unsuccessful"?

Yes, exactly.


At this time Locus can not write to GDrive, but can read the folders contents.
