Use of LM on travel

On a tour with my Moto I used LM to find my prepared Tracks. I experienced a couple of severe problems. Total breakdown of App, very slow upload of offline maps (CNIG Spain Maps), Dysfunktion of GPS Signal no upload of maps during navigation( automatic uploud) ......App runs on Samsung Galaxy Tab A10 (2016)

Hi Dieter,

we are sorry for those inconveniences. When the app crashes, we need to find out why. Therefore, it's good to repeat the action leading to the crash and make an error log. Here are precise instructions for error reporting: https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:issue_reporting.

Slow upload of maps can be caused by various factors - faulty SD card, too many tracks or points active etc. Here are a few tips how to maintain Locus Map performance: https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:locus_performance.

Disfunction of GPS signal - Locus Map does not receive GPS data from satellites - it receives it from the phone GPS unit. When the GPS unit has problems, Locus Map has problems too, sorry for that. No automatic upload of maps during navigation - that is a bit more difficult as we need it to be simulated. Did you experience this repeatedly? At what ocassions? What maps did you use? Only CNIG or some other?

Hi Michal,

upload of maps is still the problem. CNIG maps don't work at the moment other maps like IGN and downloaded online maps do their jobs - LoMaps too. I remember on my tour I got a repromt from the App that all maps except Lomaps will have problems in correct presentation. After closing the repromt the system worked without problems.

have you tried to set "all types of maps" in that setting of map auto-loading?

Hi Dieter,

we are very sorry for this inconvenience. I've discussed your case with the Locus developer and probably CNIG maps still make problems regarding auto-loading. We are trying hard to adjust the new map core to all used maps but so far we haven't been successfull with all of them. Next week we are publishing a new version - you can wait and see if the new version solves your problem or you can downgrade to 3.37.2 with the old map core.
