Use purchased map on second device

Hi, i have locus maps pro. When i buy a map for offline use on one device, do i need to buy it again for another device? For example, i paid 85L for a msp of England on 1 phone to download, and it doesnt show on another android phone, so i uad to pay again. Is that by design, or am i missing something? Thanks.

Hi,

you can use or download data on the several devices. It's only needed to use (login) with the same google account on all devices.

However there are two limitations that maybe confused you:

- Some maps can be downloaded only once (for example KOMPASS) and every downloading is charged. In such situation is possible to manually copy data to the second device (I can give you more info in further post).

There is also limitation for LoMaps that can be downloaded for free only during first year from purchase. I'd like to notice that we're planning to remove this limitation in next two months. You can also copy LoMaps manually from one device to another one.

Hi Petr,

I have exactly the same problem. Using locus>menu>more functions>backup manager I can found my google drive or I can find my local drive but all of them are disabled. So I'm not able to download my previously stored maps.

Almost the whole europe which i've already buyed has the same behaviour. BTW: I have locus map pro. What can I do now?

Dear Guido,

the backup (menu>more functions>backup manager) is only for tracks and points. I quickly checked your account in the Locus Store and you can download all your maps for free. Please open Menu > Locus Store > navigate to the detail of any purchased map and tap on "Download" button

The second solution is manual copy:

connect first device to PC and copy all files from /Locus/mapsVector to the PC
then connect second device and copy maps back to the same location on the second device

I'm sorry but there isn't any Locus version that would unlock the premium maps. No matter if you use Locus Free or Locus Pro, both versiona offer the same maps and price for maps is the same in the both versions. There are three options how to get offline maps in Locus:

to download custom area of online map - some online maps (not all) can be downloaded for offline as described at http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_download You can tray for example Hike & Bike map, MTB Europe. Please note that there are daily limits for downloading
it he second options is to download free maps via Locus store. There are mainly premium maps in the Locus store but there are also free maps for example for Denmark, Australia, Spain
Finally there are premium charged maps in Locus Store - like Lomaps, Ordnance Survey maps, KOMPASS maps. These maps are always charged no matter what version of app do you use. And I hope that we have never advertised that PRO version gets some maps for free.
