Using LocusMap Pro without google play services

My phone is google-free, i.e. there are no google play services installed. I would like to use LocusMap Pro (paid version). Purchase would be no problem through Raccoon, but will it be possible to run the paid version without google play services installed?

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately, that does not answer my question. I would like to purchase the app using google play store in the web browser of my desktop computer, then download it using Raccoon and install it manually on my phone.

The question is whether it will then run without any errors although google play services are not installed on the phone.

Amazon is not an option for me for privacy reasons either.

Dear Jan.

Thank you for your question.

Unfortunately, there is not possible to use Locus Map Pro without Google Play store in your phone. Here you find a reason http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:locus_not_work_without_gplay

Kind regards

Hello

Just in case things are not clear.

There are two different applications:

- Google Play Store (the one you need to buy ans install Locus directly from your phone)

- Google Play Services (the monstrous hog that fill the internal storage of old phones like my Sony Xperia Active, hog that it is not possible to move to the SDCard, thanks Google!).

On my phone, I uninstalled Google Play Services.

And Locus works perfectly without this hog.

I often reinstall previous versions of Locus using the saved APK files.

Therefore I believe that if you were able to buy the Locus pro APK file and copy it to your phone, you should be able to install and run it.

I don't know if you will be able to download maps, but I believe that the problem will not be Google Play Services, but rather the lack of Google account in your phone.

Nevertheless, you can try the free version (or the pro version considering the ridiculously low price of such a wonderful application) and see how it go.

Regards

Hello Michael

No, just go to settings, applications, all applications, select Google Play Services, uninstall.

Will be installed automatically if you don't restrict background data.

To restrict background data on Android 4.04, settings, data usage, mobile data on (just the few seconds for the next step), Set limit data, menu, restrict background data, mobile data off (unless of course you need it).

If it get installed for any reason again, uninstall it again.

But if Jan phone is Google free, all this is irrelevant.

Regards.

If the phone is not manufactored as Google free, there is a Play Services in the ROM.

If rooted, you can remove it "by force", if not rooted, you can only get rid of the Play Services UPDATES, not the app itself.
