Using multiple offline maps
Answered
Hi all,
just testing LocusMap on a Samsung smartphone. One question: Is it possible to use multiple offline maps at once? Now there is only one map at at time visible. If I want to change to another map I have to do it manually.
I would prefer to use several maps without switching. For example Germany & Swiss & Italy & France ...
Thank you.
Sincerely
Michael
Good day Michael,
this is little bit complicated question and depends on type of map you wants to combine.
Because I have no exact information from You, please try as first step enable automatic loading of maps in Locus Map settings. It's in menu > settings > Maps > Offline maps > and here enable Map auto-load for personal maps and also for LoMaps . Let me know if this helps. Otherwise please write me more about your maps ... mainly it's source and map format.

Hi Menion,
that is my setting.
The maps are the so called "OSM Freizeitmaps"
If I select "Menu" - "Maps" - "Offline" I see a folder "Mapsvector" with several maps inside. Only one is red, that is the map that is shown on the screen.
To change a map I point on the name, the screen switches to that new map and the name becomes red.
Does that help or do you need more details?
Michael

Good evening Michael,
thank You for useful information. In this case, you are using so called "vector maps", so it's needed to have enabled second "auto loading" options in settings (as you already have).
In your case, when you use maps with really huge coverage, in current Locus version is small issue, that may cause problems in this "auto-loading" feature.
Hope it won't be a big problem - please wait on next Locus version that will be published during next week. It should be fixed. Anyway if not, I'll need to exactly simulate same problem on own device - so list of maps you have in your device and coordinates and zoom level where it do not work as expected. Anyway I really believe it will work fine ;). Let me know and have a nice evening.
