Various icons in the category
Answered
Hello, let`s say I have two POI categories: castles and chateaus. Each category has its icon. Then I decide to merge these categories into one. Is it possible to have one icon for castles and another icon for chateaus withing the one merged category?
I know I can do it manually for each POI but for categories with a few hundred POIs it is not an option....
Thanks, Dan
My first thought
- Insert all castles and all pois for chateaus into the map
(attention to the internal memory: enable poi grouping in the map objects settings)
- Share as kmz (export map content)
- Import this kmz as a new folder (category)

I think Locus should provide better way for such simple task. Nevertheless your suggestion works. Thanks.
Btw. do you know where Locus stores icons imported with KMZ file? I dont think it is in directory Locus/icons. Maybe directly in db. I wonder if icon is removed when all POIs imported in KMZ are later deleted....

Is this your Idea/wish?
You can ask a Siteadmin to change your "Question" to an "Idea"
and wait for some votes.. :) If it does not already exist.

there exists also one, maybe little bit easier solution
create zip file that will contain
- ruins.gpx
- ruins.png
- shops.gpx
- shops.png
- parking.gpx
- parking.png
etc. and try to import this zip file into any category. Locus should correctly load all icons for specific files.
Anyway I agree that it`s little bit complicated now. Thanks for creating idea for this and I`ll for sure look at it ...
