Vector theme "City": Display bus/tram stop names

In the vector map theme "City", do also display bus/tram stop names in high zoom levels. Even in zoom level 22, when you see nothing except the bus stop icon, no name appears. Hence it`s difficult to ask / look for a bus driving to the stop where I want to go. I am aware that I may build a custom theme XML for this single purpose, but I believe tram/bus stop names are interesting not only for me but many users.

Examples:

* Bus stop at 50.077315, 8.220037 (for changing busses)

* Bus stop at 52.50266, 13.374417 (for changing from bus to tube)

* Tram stop at 47.410627, 8.552095

Hi,

In new version will be names of bus stop printed. But as I wrote in different topic: Text are problematic in vector maps and for this reason can happen that icon of bus replace the name or vice versa.

Thank you, for all three mentioned bus/tram stops, names are displayed now (v2.20.2). Yes, there are sometimes only icons, sometimes only text, and sometimes both. Happens in all themes I use (build-in themes and Elevate/Elegant/Elements).

Hi, what is the currenct state of this issue? I'm using czech_republic_gccz.map from http://osm.paws.cz/ and I don't see any bus stop name (I tried all themes).

It would be very usefull for me, because I know that there is a bus stop but I don't know its name so I'm unable to check timetable. The result is that I don't know if I should hurry or I have time to take one another cache. :)

I don't know that map source and I don't understand the language, so I can't directly help with your question. Are you aware that not all, but only selected OSM data is included in vector map files? And that it depends on zoom level what information is visible?

I use maps & Elevate theme from http://openandromaps.org/ (optimized for hiking, cycling etc) and did not miss bus stop names in recent time - maybe it works for your area, too :-)

BUS stop names were removed from internal themes in December 2014 when we released new Locus vector maps. This version (date 2014-11-10) contains offline POIs - so you can tap on icon of Bus stop and Locus shows bubble/label with the name of POI. Captions were removed because internal themes are created especially for internal maps.

AFAIK you have 3 possibilities

Use a online or personal map with bitmap tiles that already contain bus stop names, e.g. OpenStreetMap mapnik
Use a vector map and a theme displaying the names, e.g. Openandromaps with Elegant
Use a bitmap or vector map and use an overlay for only the names, e.g. offline POI from a Locus store vector map
