velomap

Can you tell me if it is possible to use maps from velomap.org? They have some really good cycling maps with lots of detail, and the developer says they can be used in Locus.

I was told "you need to create a gmapsupp.img – then put it into the 'right folder'."

I've done that, but the map isn’t found. Locus says to put maps in /storage/emulated/0/locus/maps.

The file I created shows in Oruxmaps (although there are other problems using Orux) so I think it is a correctly-created file.

Hello,

it seems that velomap distribute maps in Garmin *.img format which is not officially supported in Locus. You can try to place maps into folder Locus/mapsVector, start Locus and open Menu > Maps > tab vector. This format is still experimental and we don't plan improving of app in this area.

Hoverwer it seems that velomap are created from OSM data so you can use another maps in Locus which probably contain the same data as velomap. You can try for example:

MTB Europe maps: Maps-online > OSM regional > MTB Europe

Locus vector maps: http://support.locusmap.eu/hc/en-us/articles/200023942-Offline-maps-get-Locus-vector-maps

Thanks, the .img file works in the vector folder as you suggest.
