Vertical speed and slope in dashboard
Completed
Hi, anybody interested in vertical speed (in m/h) and slope as variables for the dashboard?

To my knowledge Menion wanted to improve altitude calculation and then add this of course slope to dashboard variables.
For vertical speed in m/s you would only see few different values in typical applications biking, hiking. At least a resolution of 0.1m/s should be used.

Hi, usually for cyclists vertical speed (VAM: average vertical speed) is in m/hour, precisely for the resolution reason.
I really hope it gets implemented!.
For VAM a good tradeoff between precision and update frequency, is calculating the 30 second average (using the moving average as garmin does).

Hiking uphill is 300 meters per hour (vertical). Do the math.

No, no, just adding my piece of experience.

so implemented ...
vertical speed and also slope will be computed from last 15 seconds and weight for weight average will be 1/time. We`ll see what this will do in real. Altitude used for compute isn`t so stable as horizontal location, so I`m sure, some similar filtering will be needed ...

Allready any test version available?
