this is quite a complicated task. I was discuss this quite long with one guy on czech forum. We tested some shadings around text and result was that on smaller devices it`s usually even worst with shading then without. Anyway I`ll try to improve it a little bit ... maybe just for resolutions 800x480 and bigger

Oki, so what about these changes

1. white (for dark texts, otherwise black) border around text and line (around blue navigation lines it`s more complicated due to possibility to define own shape)

2. from 2.7.4 version, default icons with white highlight

3. labels that are for currently highlighted point, are also highlighted by red border

hi balloni,

this version was available just for a few people ... I`m usually release public version for testing only if there is need for some intensive testing, or if anyone really want to check any feature

OK, i understand and will wait for new version ;-))

aditional question,

is it possible to have different settings for textsize viewing "Timerings" and "POI text"

to read timerintext i need min 30pix

for POItext 15pix are enaugh.

Hi Menion,

first thanks for the latest color change in 2.8.x, cyan text with white shading is perfectly readable on my low-res phone. (Still thinking it would be better without shading, but I understand the needs of people with hi-res phones ;-)) But there`s a new problem now, the line from GPS to display center is almost always broken into dotted pieces. I guess it`s a result of wrong antialiasing on low-res display:

The look seems to depend on map zoom level and also line angle: broken dotted line for usual zooms < = 17-18, the expected smooth antialiased line for zooms 18-20, sharp unaliased cyan line with sharp outline for zooms greater than 19:

I think the line should be independent of the zoom level, regardless of the display resolution...

Thanks

Maatts

Mhm... The line is dotted on hi-res HTC Desire too, so it seems to be a feature rather than a bug ;-) Is there any option to affect the zoom level that switches dotted/solid look?

ah forget to answer, sorry.

It`s simple ... I wanted to make a difference between this line and others. So I added there small spaces, so line is dashed.

Fact that you don`t see it always is also simple. After some testing some long time ago, I discovered that when you zoom in a lot, so line should be long few thousands of pixels!, android have problems with these dashes etc. So if line is longer then 5000 pixels on screen, I disable this dashing to keep Locus as fast as possible.

So it`s not related only on zoom level, but on length of this line in pixels in current zoom level

Hi Maatts

There`s actually another problem with "Line to GPS"

(and with Guidline too)

So thank you for your report.

Hi Menion, thanks for explanation, so the dashed line is a feature ;-) But -- why the line should be 5000 pixels long? It should be easy to compute intersection of the line with screen rectangle and draw only the visible part when GPS position is out of the display. (Just thinking, I`ve no experience with Android programming.)
