Waypoints Icons - Locus Pro - 2.7.0 - Update : Migration issue

Fifi shared this problem 12 years ago
Solved

Parameters :

2 waypoints categories with same icons problems.

. 1st Category :

- Category with an icon from my own icon.zip

- Inside this category, some waypoints with icons coming from my own icon.zip

but different than the category icon.

- The migration didn`t kept my waypoints icons inside the category.

- When i tried to manually change the waypoints icons, the result was a wrong

icon when i validated my icon choice (like a wrong index) .

- I had to "re-zip" the icon.zip and manually re-assign the icons for each

waypoints.

. 2nd Category :

- Category with an icon from my "mic-nature" icon file.

- Inside this category, some waypoints with icons different than the category icon

and coming from my "mic-nature" and other "mic-........" icon files.

- The migration didn`t kept my waypoints icons inside the category.

- It seems that i can manually re-assign all the waypoints icons inside the

category without troubles.

Kind regards,

Philippe.

Hello Fifi,

I completely forget to precisely test this task and this is result. It will be fixed in new version (probably release also today) 2.7.1, anyway it`s needed new database conversion

how to do it:

----------------

1. check if exists file Locus/backup/before_conversion_DATE_TIME.zip

2. if so, completely DELETE directory Locus/data/database, where are stored new databases

3. copy content of previous zip file into Locus/data directory (this is where old databases were stored)

4. start new Locus version and perform new database conversion

all icons should be correctly set.

One important information:

If anyone will have really a huge problems with conversion, we really gladly help and convert data on our devices and send back new databases. Just send us all *.sqll files from locus/data directory and within a while, you`ll receive converted *.db files. Hope no one will need this service, but just in case.

Hello, new version correctly deal with icones. Unfortunately, personal icones size still remain big despite the level of zoom.

could it be possible to retrieve personal icone size according to default icone size ?

PS : Personal icones came from Google earth

Thanks in advance,

may you describe a little bit what you mean by personal icon size? If you import kml file that have defined for points by tag, Locus do not resize! icons, but keep then in it`s original size. So if icons in Locus from KML are too big, U suggest reduce size of images or use tag to reduce size.

Hello, many thks for your reply, it is not "my" images but google Earth one.

Image size was correct with last Locus Pro version

I solved my issue by performing recommended new database conversion

So no more issue,

Thanks for your quick answer and for Locus update on regular basis

The icon sizes have changed with the new version.

It seems that now they are drawn to the display as specified (e.g. 16x16 pixels).

Previously they were drawn using the map zoom factor. I normally have maps zoomed by factor 2.5. So 16x16 was a 40x40 icon.

Which way will this be in the future?

If map zoom does not affect the icons, then I have to enlarge them.

Edit: Map icon size (small/medium/big/huge) does not effect icons from a kmz file.

hello Jan,

really from Alaska? Nice :)

anyway to your problem. From which version you updated you Locus? From quite old 2.7.0 (or older)?

Also please go to menu > information > first tab, and check if at bottom is only one path to Locus folder, not some red text with duplicate folder

And also, you wrote you`re not able to recover them. What did you tried and what was result?
