When travelling between countries: semi automatic map switch (available offline maps)

When travelling from the home country to another country locus its a bad idea to use online maps because you usually do not have a flatrate in a foreign country. Often users have eg the needed vector maps for the foreign country already stored on their devices.

Thats where my idea starts: Locus should have a function that offers the user a choice to change to the correct offline (eg vector) map if one exists on the device and if locus detects a new GPS position thats out of the current maps area but matches an existing vector map suitable for the current position.

At the moment the user has to do this on his own and I think it would be nice if locus could do this semi automatically.

Good day Rainer,

Locus already offer this feature. Check http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_settings:vectormaps , settings "maps - autoload". Please keep in mind, that current system is not perfect and in certain cases, map may not be selected correctly. We are working on this and improved version should be available during next months.

Thanks for the hint. I already had seen this menu but misinterpreted its meaning. "Autoload" sound for me like "automatic download". But now I know.

Thanks

Rainer
