Hi,

can you please specify your question? OSM maps are still in Locus Map portfolio:

and they are functional:

Or, do you miss your maps that you created by MOBAC software and used them in Locus? Check if you have them in your device memory and try to re-define the path to their folder (Maps manager > Offline > Add > External)

The offline maps, I created with MOBAC are still available.

But I cannot see any tiles in online map OSM Classik. Instead of tiles there are only text strings which are so small, that I cannot read them. My Internet connection is good.

Also in MOBAC there are no tiles any more. Seems that there is no possibility to download oflline maps anymore.

As you can see from these screenshots, OSM classic online is still available in Locus Map manager:

OSM Classic has never been downloadable in Locus. However, you can download its other versions - Hike&Bike, OpenCycleMap, MTB Europe, Wanderreit, OpenTopoMap or OpenSeaMap. Just tap action menu at each of the maps and select "Download".

MOBAC is not our product, we have no information about its map offer.

Up to now, I downloaded all maps with MOBAC.

I just tried it again in Locus. I chose Maps-Online-OSM-Hike&Bike-Download and I get see screen, shown below.

Something happened with mapquest on 11th July 2016.......

Good day,

based on your screenshot, please disable "offline mode" in your settings: http://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:user_guide:maps_settings:online . This mode blocks using online maps in your case.

Obviously the issue concerns your internet connection or your device settings as I have no problem downloading OSM Hike&bike from my wifi:

As for MapQuest, we've recently published an article explaining why it is no longer in Locus portfolio: http://www.locusmap.eu/de/where-is-mapquest/

Thanks you, Now I can see the maps.

I tried to download a map from Open Cycle Map, an area I need offline. First I have to download 500 MB and than I have to pay something, that was never mentioned before !!! For this area I should pay nearly 20 € !! Thats an really exorbitant Price...... I think These maps are "Open".

May be Orux is better or somewhere must be a new Kind of Software like "MOBAC".

Orux suffers from the same problem because it's a problem of Open Cycle Map, not a Locus problem.

Download yourself some maps from OpenAndroMaps, they even provide a button to download the maps directly to Locus.

Yes, we do not influence the terms of use or sale policy of Open Cycle Maps. Neither does Orux. If you still want OSM based maps, you can download Asamm LoMaps directly from Locus Store. They can be switched into several map themes and contain points of interest and offline addresses. First three maps are for free.

If you had read the terms of use in OCM description in Locus application, you would see the OCM download is paid. If you did not, you should blame yourself for the unexpected payment.

I remember in past, out of Locus, there were several issues with OCM requiring removal of there maps from map downloaders because the load of their servers. Nothing provided as free is really free.

Thanks, after hours of searching, I now found a solution that suites. MOBAC has not only Mapquest as a source but also other map sources.

There are other Providers in MOBAC, where I can download RMapsSQlite and where still the OSM Maps are free !

I just tried it with the area I needed (part of the Netherlands) and it works. Very good. Not quite as pretty as the former maps, but quite good.

I also looked at OpenAndroMaps, but it does not fit and I don't want to get maps directly to Locus. May be I download it and then I need some coins to use it.... ...........

So, I see, there is a life after Mapquest ;-)

and thanks to the community

I have only bought a Locus Pro App and I cannot find something like a OCM description in Locus app. What is this and more important, where is it? Is there a link for the Website?

Somewhere I saw the word "bezahlt", thats paid, in this process. But after a download of 500 MB I was forced to pay Coins to get the map. But I stopped it.

Why should I pay nearly 20 € for a map, when it can get it for free.

IF I could get it in Locus for free (because of "bezahlt"), there should be a right intuitiv way for this option within the app.

And where is the download now? I cannot find this file in the size of 500 MB on my Smartphone.

The information about the payment terms of each map is in its detail, see here:

77bde6decc095ce4b8280f0fab406d7b

anyway, before you started download, you were alerted again by the price you would pay:

There is life after MapQuest in MOBAC but such maps are acquired by the software illegally and may result in some counter action from the map providers, affecting also honest users
