In LocusMaps are no names for any alpine pastures, but in normal openstreetmaps you can find it.

Hello,

honestly I'm not sure if this is a vital attribute for orientation in the field. Would you please give me more info how do you use these name and why are important for you. What about other professional maps like KOMPASS or Bergfex. I'm not sure but I think that KOMPASS doesn't display the names of pastures.

Thanks, Petr

Hello Petr,

thank for your response.

Sure, the names oft pastures are not really necessary for orientation, but this would be the same with the names of little villages, rivers etc., which are shown in Locusmaps as well.

For me these names are not only a simple interesting information, because a often use them for historical research in the Internet. It’s a pity that therefore I have to change to others maps like Osmand,

which offers offline maps too.

In my opinion Locusmaps show the best optical surface combined with many details for hikers. So it would be a real advantage for me, to see the names of pastures too.

Best wishes Klaus

Hello, I also think that displaying Pastures on maps should be possible. Here in Austria many of this pastures are named. Most of them for >100 years. If we talk to to other people whats the destination of our hike, or whats a via-point of our hike the use of those Pasture-names is common. Some of the pastures having alpine huts providing snacks or even beds to stay overnight. Some pastures are just pastures without public huts, just meadows for cows during the summer.

So if they are named in OSM, it would be a good idea especially for Hikers to read those names on offline-maps too. maybe switchable via Theme preference dialog.

I'd like to inform that names for pastures will be ready in the next version of Locus Map app (internal hike & bike theme).
