Why it is not possible to edit on-track waypoints (red arrows) when recording

I noticed that I'm not able to edit or delete a track waypoint (the type created by the widget) when recording, because the contextual menu has less items then after recording.

I think that renaming or deleting a waypoint may be useful especially for typos. Is this behavior by design?

unfortunately this is not possible because of internal system, how track recording is done. Thanks for understanding.
