Hello Felix,

they`re identical. How did you compared these two versions? may you share some screenshots?

Google Play

AndroidPit

I first installed the Google Play version, then removed it and installed AndroidPit`s version.

Both have the same settings from a backup.

Only Google Play`s version had admin-rights at the time I took the screenshoot, but that doesn`t affect the size.

thank you for the screenshots. I firstly though it`s some missunderstanding, but this is really weird. Both versions are exactly same.

I`ll find some time today and check directories and places where is locus installed and why this happen. Will inform you about news later ...

EDIT: btw, you have purchased Locus on both places? :)

Yes I purchased it twice - I don`t liked to have two AppStores on my phone and one year ago i did not have possibility to purchase Locus Pro on Google Play.

And of course for a kind of support!

And yes - Locus was the first app I have purchased ;-)

hmm it`s quite complicated to do some testing

1. I`m testing it on Free version, cause I don`t have purchased Locus Pro on Android PIT (but has on Google Play :) ), and both installation has exactly same size 14.30 MB

2. I`m unable to find correct place where raw data are stored. In /data/data/menion.android.locus are stored only personal data of Locus but not the app itself.

Hmm, I`m little bit lost now ...

Okay. What size has your (Google Play) Locus Pro 2.14.1 ?

I think the AndroidPit version is fine, so you don`t need to test that.

If your Locus Pro (Google Play) is also about 14MB, then I have to figure it out by myself, because on my phone the GooglePlay version breaks ranks.

EDIT: I also tested Locus Free with Play and AndroidPit - they are identical - so there seems to be something wrong with my (or in general the?) Play`s version.

ah probably got it ... you`re right. Also my Locus Pro directly from Google Play has such bigger size

after some searching, reason is probably this http://nelenkov.blogspot.cz/2012/07/u... - automatic app encryption from Google

I hate to spoil your day guys but I just installed 2.14.1 and it says Total size 13,70 MB and APP 13,62 MB (even slightly smaller than 2.13.1)

it`s based on version of your Android. This encryption mechanism is in Android since 4.1+. So when you update to 4.1 or higher, Locus will grow to almost double ... "funny" :/

I have not expected this, but it is interesting.

Thank you for your research ;-)
