WMS Problems
Not a Problem
I am unable to get any wms urls to process successfully, neither the recommeded ones nor the ones I manually try. Is this a known issue?

sorry to hear about such troubles. Unfortunately no one reported such problem.
1. Firstly check if you have really working internet connection.
2. What error message you see?
3. Please share url to map you insert into "Add map" text field and that do not work, so I may test it.

sorry for a delay, we had some technical troubles on our help desk.
I'm checking your first link on service and as I see, it is some link to definition of ArcGIS service, but I see no information about definition of map as WMS! service. Unfortunately I have zero experience with these ArcGIS maps, but you just needs to insert link to WMS service and what you wrote above aren't WMS services.

I'm not sure I was a helpful to you. If you have around someone who is more familiar with these ArcGIS stuff, please ask him if is possible use these maps as WMS maps. I'm also curious if this is possible.

Thanks for all your help on this. Arcgis has changed some of there services of late. I guess they are moving away from wms.
By the way, have you considered adding a wmts tile services capability?

Yes I was thinking about it, but because this app is more focused on hike & bike then on GIS feature, this do not have high priority ... http://help.locusmap.eu/topic/support_for_wmts_servers ... number of votes seems to be quite high anyway.
