World Base Map not switching automatically to/from Vector maps

Alin Patruca shared this problem 5 years ago
Not a Problem

Hello, I just installed the app again, clean, after a long while of not needing it. No Locus data was on my phone. I redownoaded my previously purchased vector maps and some new ones, as well as the world base map.

The problem is that it does not switch automatically between it and the other local vector maps when zooming in or out. If I select it manually, it loads and is usable (still doesn't switch automatically when zooming in though), and if I switchback manually to one of the local vector maps, none of them work anymore (they only display large city circle markers and names, but no other information). The only way to display the local vector apps again is to restart the app. Needless to say, it's irritating to zoom out and only see a few downloaded regions instead of the whole world.

Hi,

I'm sorry for troubles. There are some changes related with World base map. Please try following:

open Menu > Settings > Maps > Advanced features > Pre-load global map > select vector World map. After test the zoom-in/out

Thanks, Petr

Thanks, it works! Don't know how I didn't see that option. It's definitely better for orienteering when planning long distance routes now. The only problem is that it's quite a significant jump in Level of Detail when it switches. I remember it being more gradual, but perhaps I'm not remembering it right.

Hi,

the world base map is the same for about two years. This the cost for the small size (about 15 MB) and speed of rendering
