Zoom outside the map available

Locus allows to zoom just one step outside the zoom levels in the map by resampling the map down. (this is really a perfect feature)

It would be hardly handy to allow at least two levels of resampling.

I understand it means more data to process and may affect a memory usage but this would really help when the smaller scales are just not available.

Thanks, Petr

This is something I support.

I`m using Locus mainly for Geocaching with RMAPs. A bit more of an overzoom would make it easier to find the last meters to the target (while seeing the track breadcrumbs on the map). I tried it with:

extended settings - enabling a permanent zoom of the map

but that made the map unsharp even on most normal zoom occasions.

That`s strange. I can already get 3 extra levels of `digital zoom` For example, if level 15 is the highest zoom level of saved tiles, after 15@100%, it zooms to 15@200%, then 15@400% and finally 15@800% ! Are you using the latest version of Locus? This is for personal/offline/raster maps, by the way.

I talked about at least 2-level zoom out to see an overview of the detailed map. The 3 levels overzoom to see more details is already present in locus.

Sorry - nigel`s comment confused me a little. I agree that this might me helpful when tiles are unavailable, to get an overview of a large area, although any detail on the map would obviously become unreadable at this level of zoom.

Now I`m not sure about what you are talking. I think first you should clarify which type of map you are talking. With my created CompeGPS-Rmaps I can zoom out to 400km on the scale. More doesn`t seem to make sense for me.
