I love Locus and have the widget to start/stop/pause track recording always on my home screen.
This widget also includes a button, where you can save a POI if the track recording is active.
Would it be possible to have that "POI saving" also available, if Track recording is not active?
It would be very convenient, if you are at a special place, just tap the button, Locus stores the location, saves a POI in a designated folder, and then closes again. You could then rename / move / edit the POI later, but while you are enjoying the place, you don't need to enter all data.
Let me just add, that a perfect way to make functions like this accessible without needing a new widget, is shortcuts. So please have a look at this idea, too:

After reading some of the forums, it doesn't appear as though Menion views this widget function as desirable. I don't understand, could someone describe to me why this would not be a useful widget function? To me, it seems like this would be a very useful shortcut. Instead of opening locus and waiting 20-60 seconds for a connection to appear before I can mark a point, I could just click the widget button and put my phone in my pocket, then continue doing other tasks while the app starts up. I'm sure I could create my own shortcut for this task, but that just seems too contrived considering all the other wizbang features in Locus. I don't think anyone ever complained about more widgets, especially not those who would tend to use Locus Maps.

Personally I voted this feature because I would like to have a widget that let me add waypoints on the waypoint list, i.e. not bonded to a track.
I normally record a track at the same time, so for me it's not a problem if a track record is required, my goal is just to have a way to add waypoints separately to the track data.
