Suggestion to improve locus pro with imported gpx files
I`m missingin locus pro the possibility to change the navigation mode using imported gpxfiles.
Forexample:
You startyour tour in the near( not exactly on the tour) of the middle of imported gpxfile. Locus has only the possibility to choose “routeprority” (locus will tryto bring you to the startpoint of the gpx-file) or “endpointpriority” ( locuswill bring you to endpoint anyway). Inother systems you have 4 possibilities without copying the gpx file withchanged direction:
1. → tostart
Tour direction endpoint
2. → to end tour direction startpoint
3. → totour follow tour to endpoint
4. → totour
Follow tour to startpoint
Especiallythe point 3 and 4 is what I think is very important for a good navigationsystem.
Or did Imiss something in locus?
Thanks foryour answer and hopefully an update J J

Thanks for your comment. But there is not the possibility to choose between
1. to the endpoint of the route and
2, to the startpoint of the route
if i start in the middle of the route

I would have the Problem in the past. I start the Navigation for a downloaded Track from gpsies.com. LocusMap navigate me to the StartPoint and now i stopped the Navigation and start again. Then LocusMap navigate me now from the Startpoint.
But the Point is LocusMap should ignore the Start and Endpoint and navigate me continous without stopping. Thats just possible on Tracks that was Round Trips.
I hope i can contribute this Idea more clearly.

Oh sorry for my misunderstood. Jörg Hielscher have really good explain the Issue. Navigate the Person to the fastest way to the Track.

Hi,
if you start navigation somewhere near the middle of the imported route and you have automatic recalculation with route priority ON, Locus calculates route to the nearest place of the imported route and then along the route, not to its start so the point 3 of this idea is covered. If the starting point of the imported route is the closest place of the route to your position, Locus navigates to it and then along the route - point 1 is covered. I don't understand point 2. Point 4 - tap the route, select trackpoint on the spot of your tapping and start navigation to it.

Actually very easy to understand.
"Locus calculates route to the nearest place of the imported route and then along the route" Thas is right and this is the Problem.
You can not choose in which direction

I think this is not a problem. Each route is a chain of routepoints going one after another consecutively - the direction is a crucial part of metainformation the route holds. If you need to go along the route in reverse direction, the route itself must be reversed, i .e. the order of its routepoints must be reordered in opposite way. This is done when you make a copy of the route and check that you want to make it in reversed mode. Then you place it on the map and start navigation - Locus navigates to the route and then along it in reversed direction.

Tahuna, for example, can do that very well.
Theobjection with one-way streets I do not find worth mentioning. I willdefinitely not navigate with Locus through Prague, Paris or Cologne.
Imean here a bicycle route that leads along beautiful cycling paths.
Againan example: I have a bicycle route that is about 60 km from A to B longimported as gpx file. I live in the middle of this route and would like todrive once to A and the next day in the direction of B. Without copying theroute and save in the opposite direction. Locus is not clear here. Tahuna doesthat without much effort.
Anotherdisadvantage of Locus is that you often drive in the direction of the lowerscreen. If you choose to turn the screen in the direction of travel you drivein the right direction, but all the labels on the map are turned upside down.Again, this is not the case with Tahuna and naviki.
Abig advantage of Locus is that it works 100% offline and you can load all sortsof maps.
AtTahuna I have not tested that with the 100% offline yet, but I'll do it soon.

Navigating in another direction should not be so difficult. How does Locus create the route?
Track is imported.
Track points are sent to Routing Service (BRouter).
Route is created by BRouter.
We only need one box to select "Navigate in the opposite direction"
What does Locus have to do now ....
Rename the track points.
Let's assume we have 100 track points.
100 becomes one, 99 becomes 2, 98 becomes 3, ....
And then the points are sent to BRouter
