Insert a new viapoint to a running navigation

I am used by Osmand, that I can insert a new via point into a running navigation? But I was not able to figure out how to do this with Locus.

Open long click on map or point. Then. Insert lake picture.

Thanks for feedback, but unfortunately i don't understand.

'Lake picture'? Sounds funny :-)

I tried doing a 'long click' on my smartphone touchscreen where i want to insert a new via-point to an active navigation route, but nothing happens.

Using the icon marked on the screenshot sets this point as an new starting point of a new navigation route.

That's not what's wanted here. I expected to have that new via point inserted in the already active navigation route. This means that the way from the current position to the new via point will become also part of the active navigation route.

For this 'workaround' the new via point also needs to be a point (poi) or something. Just tapping your finger slomewhere on the map for a new via-point does not work. Looks like a new point has at least to be created there first. That might work somehow, but is a lot of back-and-forth when your on the go for such a simple task.

It seems the next functionalty is what expected.

Demo video shown here is by the Cruiser app. (The Kurviger app uses the exact same similar method)

It can also be done in a slightly different way this is to avoid unintentionally changing the correct rank and order of the Shaping and/or Via Point list

Place the new Shaping or Via Point on the navigation line itself. By snap to street action it will always land exactly on the osm road network.

After that you can drag and move the new Shaping or Via Point quite precisely. By snap to street it also then lands exactly where you want it.

Agreed, that's what is expected here, thumbs up :-)

Even with undo feature as shown in the clip.

only works with active navigation. and you need to activate long click to show address . in settings/ control/ map view

OK, great! Thanks for this hint. This at least successfully enabled to get a new point by tapping your finger somewhere on the map. But in the given scenario this point can only be used to create a NEW navigation route. I still couldn't manage to just insert this point in an ALREADY RUNNING navigation route to also have directions TO this new point.

simply insert ongoing navigation with the Hey button. the button as a hexagon with the arrow inside. see picture above

Did that already as you mentioned this before. But again, as already mentioned, this won't add this new point to your already running navigation, but instead creates a new navigation with the new point as the starting point. So you won't have directions to this new point if you're not already there. Do you understand the difference?

For me, this point is inserted as an intermediate destination in the ongoing navigation. My navigation starts in the south and my destination is in the north. On the way I look in the middle on the left A restaurant. I long click and paste it. Now my navigation changes. This leads me from the current point to this intermediate goal. And from there back to the final destination.

Hey @freischneider, great, so glad that you're right!! I could now get it working as expected.

My fault why i couldn't get this in the first place was that i only created a navigation route and activated it, but my current position wasn't on that route, my phone didn't even had an gps signal. I just simulated it.

Thank you for your patience and directions!

Cheers, roland
