Shift map cursor configurable

The "shift map cursor" option shifts the map down by 25%. Could this be made configurable (maybe in expert settings)?

Especially in landscape mode, the 25% is still quite high on the screen. Shifting down to 10% or 15% would leave more real-estate on the screen for seeing the route in the direction of travel.

Great idea, that's exactly, what I proposed in https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=9263.0 too!

Hi Andrew,

I would rather like to see your modification of my screenshot here. :-) As it better demonstrates our problem.

Actually, after testing, my phone (portrait orientated) screen is probably similar to your screen capture, I haven't had an issue in the past, so I probably overreacted when I viewed your screencap ;-) I still voted for a configurable percent.

Attached a screenshot of how is looks now and how it would look.

For me, this is especially relevant in landscape mode.

I think so that most people use the screen upright. Which is also standard for a phone. So far there has been no need for it.
I would never think of using it horizontally. Because I want to see a lot of the route in front of me.
But since there is the possibility, your request is justified.

Interestingly, almost all dedicated navigation systems for motorbike or car use are landscape and not portrait. Also all android-auto screens are landscape.

I agree that when hiking or on a bicycle, I use the phone in portrait mode and even in the car it is in portait (but not the aa-screen). However, on the bike, the mount is landscape and since this is an integrated system (BMW ConnectedRide Cradle) there's also no way to change this without losing a lot of functionality.

I have to say that the screen area actually used for navigation is almost square anyway, since on the right I use the custom overlay with data about the route and to the left the app produces the navigation hints, so in the end, the visible area is almost square.

Good to have a true biker in Menion's team ;-)

I think, it doesn't matter, whether anyone uses portrait or landscape mode. The possibility to set the offset from the screen center could be useful at all. Then I would set it, so that the calculated map center is not so close to the bottom edge but still below the screen center.
