I’ve been using Locus Map for many years now. Both versions – Classic and Locus Map 4 – and I still use them both. My favourite tools.
I want to back up LM from my current phone as well as from a few older ones.
I’ve discovered that my cloud service – currently the most affordable option, IDrive 5TB – cannot be used for this purpose. I have to purchase a separate Dropbox account specifically for Locus Map. So, in order to back up Locus Map, I’ll have to spend €100 a year.
I don’t mind paying an annual subscription fee for Locus Map, but I find it absolutely incomprehensible that I’m then automatically obliged to pay for Dropbox as well.
Is there a possible solution to this?

A free OneDrive account is perfectly sufficient for backing up Locus Map.

There are also various third-party apps, some of which are free, such as Drive Sync or Folder Sync, which allow you to automate and manage backups to any cloud service, including via WebDAV.

the automatic backup of Locus Map saves the database of points, tracks and routes, and some settings. Not the whole working directory with maps, attachments, media, etc. If you need to create a migration backup containing everything, you can use any storage to copy the data to.
