Support for lab caches

Hi there.

I've found my first lab caches a few days ago and Locus works ok with them after importing the gpx, even marking them as found, like any other cache.

For my surprise, this addon doesn't handle lab caches. Am I correct?

If so, can this be implemented in future updates?

Regards.

Ok, I realized now that it's a bit redundant to have the lab caches log, since they're directly logged at the webpage.

Anyway, it would be helpful to know in which order we've found them.

Hi,

could you please be more precise what app you are talking about? You wrote that Locus can work with lab caches OK and then you mention some addon that can't. What addon do you mean? Geocaching4Locus or Fieldnotes addon?

Hi, Michal.

Sorry, I mean Field Notes add-on, as stated on the topic's category.

You mean a response from whom?

No one answered me after my last message nor solved this issue...

Currently no other App or Add-on outiside Groundspeaks "Adventure Lab"- App is able to deal with Labs due to the lack of exports via API or GPX-files.

So there's nothing Locus or another app can do to display/process/log Adventure Labs.

Hi, Sonny.

I am aware of that. Nevertheless, it is possible to import lab caches to Locus via gpx and use them as any other cache to add to the cache counter and export the found list in order to GSAK.

Anyway, this is not something urgent or really necessary. Although it could be useful, it would be only for a niche of users. I was just answering to Andrea, because there was not really an answer to this topic.

There's no way to get a .gpx file of Lab Caches from Groundspeak which you can import into Locus.

All you can do is to manually create waypoints of Labcaches in GSAK, export them from GSAK via .gpx and import this .gpx into Locus. So Locus at least allocate a "Lab"-Icon to this waypoint. Now you can e.g. filter Lab-caches in Locus.

Another method is to click onto a Lab-Stage within the Lab-App, click onto its "Navigation"-icon and now Locus opens with a new temporary waypoint at this location. But locus just creates a standard waypoint, no Wayoint with a Lab-icon.

I didn't' say anything about importing a gpx file from Groundspeak...

I know how to import it to Locus via GSAK, I just don't think that is a priority given the state of abandon of this app.

@AntMadeira: You should EXACTELY describe what you want Locus to do, where your GPX files come from, what other apps you're using in your workflow etc.

Otherwise people like me or Locus support have to guess what your sources are (the most logical source of Geocaching data including .gpx files is of course groundspeak.com - what else!)

Hello,

We apologize for the situation, unfortunately the G4L developer (who is in charge of this topic) unfortunately does not respond.

However, if your problem persists, I can pass it on to my colleague Michal.

Thank you

Have a nice day
