please ask dr.google or visit Locus forum http://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php for further discussions about 3rd party websites because that's a question of taste...

Well Outdooractive works fine for route planning, you can export kml and gpx files and then import to Locus; the good for outdooractive: you may connect to roads, paths etc. making planning a bit more convenient.

GoogleEarth works as well, but it does not connect to roads or paths, so you have to actually "hit" them as point quite correctly - a nightmare.

However, the Locus App is very good (the best compared to the above) for planning and I hope there will be a Desktop version soon with the sam features for planning.

Hi Jelle, thanks for the inf. I've just tried that "Basecamp", it appears to be good for road trips etc., but not really for mountainbiking on trails etc. in the green - there were no such roads or ways / tracks marked & available in my version, just "official raods" in a course resolution. Anyway, I'll stick to outdooractive so far and wait for the Locus developers to come up with a desktop tool for rout-planning.

Cheers

It is possible, you can change an option to car, mountainbike, walk, hike ect. But you must have a map that can handle it.

Hi guys, quite an old topic, but still actual.

I personally from time to time use this app (mainly for testing)

Or plan directly on web site

And (good) old Basecamp of course :).
