orange pop-up warnings for three minutes upon starting

Mark Brough shared this problem 4 years ago
Solved

Have just upgraded to 3.38. Whenever I start app, I get orange pop-up warnings for three minutes, of the form:

addMap (dddd), duplicate provider, already exists: dddd, <map name>

Then app works well. Same happens upon exiting and re-starting.

Some or all of these maps are downloaded raster maps.

LG G6, Oreo 8.0. So respectable performance and recent OS.

HI Mark,

version 3.38 did have this bug in it. Please update to 3.38.6 or wait a few hours for 3.38.7.

best regards

Michal

Thanks Michal. I am afraid that the issue is identical in 3.38.7 - no improvement whatsoever.

I have fixed the issue thanks. I modified providers.xml some years ago, and renamed the origianl file bakproviders.xml I have just now deleted bakproviders.xml and all is well. This problem report suggests to me that a recent update:

  • began to recognise bakproviders.xml , or

  • began to check for duplications, or

  • began to warn (orange pop-up warnings) about duplications.

(As a bonus, my app now starts up about twice as quickly.)

Regards, Mark.

Hi,

go to the Map manager > Offline tab > tap "+" button and select "Add external". If there is any directory defined, remove it.
