Hi Waldemar,

could you please make clear what exactly is wrong? You write - "Galaxy Note 10.1, Android 5.1.1. , update Locus 3.86. to 3.87 - navi ok". Amd then "Samsung S7 Edge, Android 8.0.0 - Locus 3.87 - bad navi". Does it mean that on one device Locus works right and on another not?

Hi,

on the tablet the navigation works correctly (Android 5.1.1.), while on the smartphone (Android 8) wrong, ie works identically as in version 3.38.5, about which this error was posted by users on the help.

I would like to remind you that this error consists in the fact that navigation no longer leads from its launch, because it displays in the upper indicator the change of direction - the last point of the route (flag) with the number of km - equal length of the route. There are no messages about the change of direction, but ... surprisingly there are messages that I am off the route (!?).

In addition, I mention that there are problems with displaying the map, i.e. often the map does not show me the current position even though I have positioning turned on.

Because I have bad experience with your updates, which are more and more often wrongly set, I am backing up individual versions.

And so, when Locus updated to version 3.38.7 - I uninstalled it and installed version 3.38.6 (which has repaired navigation), but unfortunately - the program can’t be started, so I reinstalled version 3.38.7. Maybe some hint on how to run the previous version?

best regards

Hi Waldemar,

Locus Map's functionality doesn't depend on type of the phone or operation system so if you claim that on one device it works correctly and on another not, it means that on one it is properly set and on the other probably not. I would try this on the "faulty" phone:

1) please check Locus settings > Navigation > Frequency of commands if "None" is selected. If yes, change it to something else (low, medium, high - if none is selected, Locus doesn't generate navigation commands)

2) when navigation is started, please tap the navigation box (upper left corner) > hold finger on "Recalculate" > and on another dialog make sure the "Include navigation hints" is checked:

Current position - Locus gets GPS position from the phone. If the phone GPS is not fixed, Locus doesn't know your position. Make sure Locus Map has ALL system premissions it needs and it is properly excluded from ALL means of battery optimization (https://dontkillmyapp.com/)

Downgrades - before you downgrade, make sure you back up all Locus data and uninstall the newer version. All older versions are available here: https://docs.locusmap.eu/doku.php?id=manual:faq:devices_older_android

best regards
