Short coords format

Evgeny Kurshev shared this idea 4 years ago
Completed

Now, there is three lat/lon format in Locus. But first format - "14,94323°" is actually "W 14,94323°".

Please, rename it to "W 14,94323°" and add shorter "IT" format - negative numbers for south and west, without dergee sign: "18.43702,-12.20382".

For example, Google Maps show coords in this format:

Sorry, this is "Idea", not "Question". But now I can't change it :(

Hello Evgeny,

changed to the idea, thanks.

What is the benefit of this change? Among Google Maps, is this some officially used syntax (using negative number instead of S and W signs)?

Benefit - short, easy to copy (easy to select by mouse on or finger - one or zero space), no "not-on-keyboard" degree symbol. Just two regular numbers. When I send coords to someone, I always reformat them to this.

Now this format is everywhere.
