Korean tts is not working at the point alert

Solved

Hello.

The Korean TTS function does not work when the point alert is executed on the locus map.

If you change the language to English, English TTS works.

If you speak Korean, you can't even run the test.

In fact, when you operate it outdoors, it doesn't make any sound and the screen warns you

I think there is a problem with the operation of TTS in Korean.

I want to solve it.

Hi,

I'm sorry but I'm not able to simulate the problem. Korean TTS in my phone works for POI alert. Does the testing phrase in your TTS settings work? Does Korean TTS work for other features like navigation or out-of-route notification?

Hello Michal Stupka

My smartphone is a Samsung Note8.

Test phrase in TTS settings, Samsung TTS engine works well. However, the Google TTS engine works, but I can't read enough. And with navigation, the Korean TTS function works well.

However, it is not activated by point alert.(Both Samsung and Google engines do not operate point alerts using TTS.)

Not only me, but also locus map users who use the Korean TTS function around me.

You can understand it by changing the language to Korean and pressing the Test button with point alert.

Hi Dong,

thank you for the clarification, nevertheless, I'm still sorry - all works by me, see the video: https://asamm.myqnapcloud.com/share.cgi?ssid=0Ofd3G5

Hi, Michal Stupka.

Sadly, the MKV video file doesn't sound.

The video shows that the Locus Map language is set to local.

Point alert does not work if you try it in Korean instead of local

It's an unreasonable request, but try to set the Locus Map language to Korean.

Point alert is not working at all.

I'll make a video of the sound in a couple of hours and upload it.

Please look and judge.

OK, I set up my Locus Map in Korean and recorded video in m4v format. All works correctly: https://asamm.myqnapcloud.com/share.cgi?ssid=0g2VjX5

Thank you very much for your sincere reply.

It's amazing how it works.

Google TTS engine and Samsung TTS engine sound different.

I want you to look at my video and judge me.

What's wrong with my smartphone and the locus map users around me? be curious

Is it an Android version or a setup problem?

Do you have any good solutions or hints?

Just a guess:

Maybe the wrong audio channel is selected in settings or the volume of the selected audio channel is set to 0.

Thank you for your answer.

I don't think so.

Setting up the sound of a smartphone is normal.

This is my personal opinion.

I use the latest version of locus map

But people around me have used locus map before.

These days, as they changed to a new version, they found that TTS voice support was not available in the point alerts function and told me. And I experienced it too.

So I don't know what my thoughts are, but I think there was a problem with the new version.

This is not my video.

This is a video of a member of a locus map user group.

This person can't point alert using TTS just like me.

And both audio channels do not point alert in the locus map setting.

According to the video, French works well.

And it's good to change the point alert to Korean right away without turning it off.

But if you turn off the point alert and run it again, you can't speak Korean.

(All other languages work well, but only Korean doesn't work.)

What the hell is wrong with the Android system?

Is it a problem with smartphone hardware?

Please give me some hints or other answers, even if it's not an answer.

Hello Dong,

a little bit complicated task to tell where may be a problem. Probably best should be, if you may try it in a language where it works correctly, then switch to Korean and after that, create a log by this method. In the log, should be a visible problem. If not, I may prepare a special version that will print more information into a log.

Thank you very much.

Hello, Menion.

Thank you very much for your answer.

I created a debugging report based on E-mail.

I don't know if it's well made.

Once I sent the debugging report.

If it's wrong, please tell me again.

Have a nice day. Menion

Hi,

after some more investigation, we found an error in the Korean translation of the string announcing points. It might be the cause of the problem. Peculiar, that on some phone the translation is accepted by the TTS, on some other not. We'll see in the next version.
