Hi,

I'm a long time user of Locus Maps Pro on Android. Today I switched phone for a Huawei P40 Pro, which does not have Google Services.

Locus is not recognizing my licence and refuses to start (error code 1811)...

What should I do ?

Thanks in advance,

Thierry

Thanks c.s.g for the links but those are not really answers...

I have bought a software that I can't use anymore because it is unable to check my licence.

But Locus is so great I don't mind to buy it a 2nd time through Amazon Appstore :)

You are right. The links offers no solution for your problem.

Because it is not possible to use Locus Pro on new Huawei devices at the moment my next smarthphone will be definitily no Huawei ;-).

And you are right a second time. Locus is worth each cent it costs at least twice.

Thanks for your answer :)

You have to change your habits with a Huawei phone, it's not a big problem as there are so many possibilities to replace usual apps but Locus is the one I don't want to replace :)

Its not a Locus issue, its a huawei problem, youre best bet is to install Google play services and play store you your phoen can install apps like a normal android phone.

Hello Thierry,

as others already wrote, there is currently no solution to this "problem". Huawei itself push on us to publish Locus Map on their App store, but we have a) technical problems with it and b) I have also a personal moral problem with Huawei company itself.

So I'm sorry because I also can't recommend Amazon AppStore! Since June, their decline every our update and completely ignore my repeated emails "why". So version 3.49 is the first, we did not even try to upload to Amazon, because it simply does not pass their weird verification system.

We will during the next few months publish a new Locus Map 4 version and then I'll push my colleagues to find a method on how to get Locus Map to users without Google Play ... finally. Can't promise it will have a solution, but we will at least try ;).

Sorry for the bad news and if you will try to find any alternative app, I may only wish a good luck!

Thanks Menion and Alistair for your answers. I keep Locus, it is working and it's the best :)

But for sure I won't install Google Services, I purposedly bought a Huawei device to (try to) "free" myself from Google.

Thierry Vilmus, are you saying you have it working on your P40? How?

Peter, yes Locus 4.2.1 (free version) is working on my Huawei P40 Pro. I'm using it almost every day.

I had used Amazon appstore 11 months ago to install it on my phone. Not sure this way is still ok... but have you try to find the apk on apkPure or other site like that ?

I have many apps that display a message saying they will not work on the phone, but at the end they work...

I'm not able to use the Locus Pro version I bought earlier bit I still can use the free version, and I'm happy with that. I have not tried to install the new version

Versuchen Sie, die LM4-Beta zu installieren. https://forum.locusmap.eu/index.php?topic=6817.0
