Long-term continuous location recording

I want Locus to record my location continuously for a long time without affecting the current track recording. What should I do?

I hope it is a function that runs continuously in the background and does not require intervention.

This way I can know where I have been in the past year or years.

This is similar to Android's background location recording, but I hope I can fully grasp my own historical data.

I expect Locus to support this feature, or does it already support it?

Hi,

I'm afraid Locus Map doesn't do what you need. Track recording can be run only as a single process - there is no option to run one single-use front-end recording plus some continuous background recording at once.

Any changes to the app must go through the users' voting. If there is a general demand for the change, the developers might think about its implementation.

Live tracking to your own server could do this

i update live tracking once an hour using tasker, but this was to gyntas server, which he is no longer maintaining, I could see the last 300 points

But if you just want a log of visited locations

just using tasker, you could have location every so often, and upload to a google spreadsheet, and then visualise as you want.

I don't know much about Locus, I may only use a few of its features. So I did not search for the Tasker you mentioned, but I found this:

It looks great and seems to be able to implement many new features.

I haven't installed it yet, because I generally prefer to investigate its purpose before installing it.

May I know the exact meaning of the task you said?

Tasker is a great way to automate your phone, some roms like the miui ones can have issues with tasker.

for example, I can send my phone a txt message from anotehr one, and it will launch a task that starts locus, and using falcos plugin it starts the live tracking.

i have another task that can get coordinates from the clipboard, and open locus and guide to those coordinates

anotehr one to launch locus compass when i shake the phone.

so just using the app called tasker, i upload to a server Gynta made available, that live tracking can send updates to, the update is just sent manually from tasker.

If the new locus live tracking had the ability to have an update pinged to it from Falcos plugin, and to not need to be running

And for the live tracking webserver to keep a very long history, then could achieve what you wanted

I understand it now, but when I was about to install it, it suddenly occurred to me that I had actually installed one:

Do you think this MacroDroid is also a kind of Tasker app ?

I understand that they seem to be apps with similar functions.

The first reason I installed MacroDroid was that it would help me automatically reject harassing calls.

But it is still not smart enough to realize automatic answering, automatic conversation, etc., and it is still a phone number based on specific rules.

Then I found that this app can achieve many functions, but until now I still only use it to refuse calls. :)

macrodroid is very similar, it should theoretically work with Falcos plugin.

Ive added a new idea that would accomplish this

so 2 things, for the locus live tracking update to be able to happen using tasker/macrodroid- it can at moment but only by starting and stopping, a simple update would be better

And for locus live tracking web to keep a history....
