Will track recording work safely on Samsung A51 ?

Hej LOCUSistians,

right now I am looking out for a new smartphone.

I had (and still have!) troubles with a Samsung A5 (https://help.locusmap.eu/topic/gps-track-recording-interrupts-on-samsung-a5-2019-with-android-8). It seems impossible to do continous longer-term track recording (12 hours) due to Samsungs power management.

With that in mind you'll find me to be a fool, but my first choice could be a Samsung A51 which seems to be an up-to-date, nice-featured device.

So my question is: Will Locus run fully functional on a Samsung A51 - especially with a look at continious GPS track recording?

Thanks for sharing your experiences.

Hi Boris. I have had a Samsung Galaxy A5 (A520) for over 3 years, use Locus extensively with track recording, often for bike rides spanning multiple days continuously, and have never had any problems with track recording. 100% reliable.

Please check Android settings > Device Maintenance > Battery > Unmonitored apps > add Locus. I hope that helps.

Hi Boris,

Locus Map currently runs correctly on all Android devices and we've received no reports of problems with Samsung A51. Recently, Locus Map Pro is actively used on 2 624 devices and Locus Map Free on 9 071 devices. As Andrew has written, it is necessary to get all system permissions to the app and exclude it from all means of the battery optimization.
